IPL to be hosted in South Africa | Indian Premier League 2009 | IPL 2009

South Africa has emerged as the winner to the 2009 IPL. The decision was made after a meeting between the Lalit Modi, and the South Africa chief executive, Gerald Majola, in Johannesburg on Tuesday. Johannesburg, Durban, Centurion, Port Elizabeth, East London and Cape Town are the host venues.

With the decision now made, the Security arrangements - which forced the tournament out of India - needs to be arranged, and players and officials will require visas and accomodation. 59 matches will be held over a six week period. The Length of the IPl chedule has been shortened to 5weeks
